This charger did worked for my HP dv6-1362nr laptop. It's life, with some college abuse but with creative repairs, made it last for about one year. For the price, you really can't beat it considering the original charger is many times more. However, here are some issues:1) Charger will heat up very quickly - meaning it is pretty inefficient.2) Your laptop may not recognize the charger, meaning it will charge, but your laptop will think its on a battery.3) The plastic is cheap. This is why my charger needs replaced. Wire cracks and splits far too easily. Its beyond repair.But hey, I may still buy this one again. Sorry HP, at least the functionality lasts. Your capacitor in the original charger blew out before this one did. And its from China. A chord I can fix, not the cap in a glued box.I would've rated this 5/5 but the reason why im back here is because I have to order another charger. Of course the charger is going to go out if its generic but it got the job done for it not to be the real thing. It last me 6 months before going out but it did what it was intended to do. Also I had a few minor issues but the seller was very professional and helped me out.Product - 4/5Seller service - 5/5The plug that goes into the laptop is a little small but seems to make decent contact and it is only a 2 wire unit not 3 like the original. The picture on the listing page is positioned so that you can't see where the AC plug inserts into the unit. However the one displayed while I write this review is a 3 prong unit. Amazon should really get the right picture with the right unit.As for functionality goes, yes, it will replace the adapter that came with your HP laptop and the price is perfect. Apart from that, the brick is bulkier (wider and higher than original) and the cord length compared to the original sucks. If you still have one of the sides of the original that works, use it, which is what I did since only my brick got damaged. I've added measurements below since the item's listing fails to mention them. The measurements are of the cords since the bricks have the same length. This replacement is a piece of junk. Cut down the star rating to two for its bad quality.Reading some of the reviews, it made mention of the adapter not fitting. One thing I noticed was that when I searched through amazon for my specific product, the search results had brought up several adapters with product descriptions that did not match what I was looking for. Make sure to read the product description and ensure your product code is in the product description before you purchase. Other than that, product showed up as agreed. One complaint I had was in regards to the cord length- a few inches shorter than the one that comes with the laptop.Replaced a defective supply for a three-year old laptop. The very first day we used it, it got rather warm; warmer than I would expect but not burning. But that has not happened again. I'll take one star off for the short cord; otherwise it's equal to the original.If you're looking for an exact replacement of your original HP power supply, this isn't it. It is clearly of a lower quality with regard to materials and workmanship, and the cables are only half the length. However, it works very well, is lighter, and is much less expensive than the original HP power supply. Now make an informed choice!The cord could be a smidge longer but the thing works great. The power block itself stays pretty cool compared to the OEM HP one it replaced.
